Description

Chelsea Market, a food and retail, marketplace, office building, owned by Google, faced a challenge recovering the cost of tenant’s water and quickly addressing leaks. Ashokan Water Services developed a comprehensive solution, identifying 148 water end-use areas for monitoring. We installed sub-meters at strategic locations, collecting information transmitted to AquaSync’s cloud platform, where each tenant can access their water use via any mobile device. Each tenant’s portal shows their water consumption daily, weekly, monthly, and annual, with tenants notified immediately when a leak occurs. Chelsea Market is now recovering over 95% of their water costs, reducing the building's water footprint and fostering a culture of conservation. In the first year, the system detected over 141 leaks, enabling prompt action and highlighting its critical role in commercial water conservation.
